POND ART

An ongoing project inspired by my relationship with my own pond. A smallish pond in my garden, a haven for wildlife, frogs, newts, dragonflies & damsel flies. A place of refuge, a space to notice the enduring existence of nature and the tiniest details.

The pieces below explore the experience of being within a pond rather than observing it. Generally forms are suggested rather than being fully described allowing elements to emerge and recede through the layers. Colours are, at times, heightened to a point of unease, holding a tension between the beauty of this natural eco system and the toxicity of the pollutants; socio political & environmental, to which it is vulnerable.
